I am a native New Yorker and I sell these buildings. I also spend an unreasonable amount of time finding out who built them, who got turned away from them, and what they cost.
Every address in this city is hiding something. A sewer under Canal Street. A beach under Pearl Street. A baby zebra missing a stripe that has been in plain sight for fifty years. Once you know, you cannot unsee it.
Once a month I send one letter: a history deep dive, the research that did not fit in ninety seconds, a historic listing or two, and a short read on what the market is actually doing. A recent issue was about Rosario Candela, who drew roughly seventy five apartment buildings in New York in a single nine year run and whose name alone still makes an apartment dramatically more valuable. It covered how to tell when you are standing in one, why they command a premium, and who they are wrong for, and it ended with every Candela apartment on the market, from $825,000 to $35,000,000.

I am a lifelong New Yorker and a licensed salesperson with Sotheby's International Realty. On Instagram, nearly 100,000 people follow along while I tell the story behind an address: the cast iron buildings of Soho, Candela and the nine years that set the standard for every apartment built after him, the architect who arrived here at thirteen with nothing and drew seven of the buildings on Central Park West, the German saboteurs who came ashore in Amagansett.
The history is not a hobby I keep separate from the job. It is the job. Knowing why a building was put up the way it was is how you know what it is worth, why it still commands a premium, and who it is wrong for. That is a much more useful conversation than anything about cornices.
If you are thinking about buying or selling in Manhattan or out east, I would love to help.

GUIDANCE
Representation from the first conversation through closing, and for as long as you own the place.
TRANSACTION MANAGEMENT
Attorneys, lenders, inspectors, managing agents, contractors. I keep them moving so you are not the one making the calls.
RESEARCH
Access to what is listed, and to what is not yet. Much of what I show clients never reaches a public search.
NEGOTIATION STRATEGY
Price is one of five things on the table. Timing, contingencies, closing date, and what the other side actually needs are the rest, and they are usually cheaper to trade than dollars.
MARKET ANALYSIS
What sold, what it sold for, how long it sat, and what the seller paid. That is what an offer should be built on.
AFTER CLOSING
I will be there for you through it all, and I will always give you a straight answer when something comes up two years from now.
